Two weeks ago, we notices a lot of tiny “butligs” on Anika’s back and neck. My MIL told us that it was prickly heat rashes or bungang araw.
I posted a status on my FB asking my mommy friends what they do for prickly heat rash. A lot of them answered (thank you very much!) giving advices like using Cetaphil, Elica Cream, J&J Cornstarch Powder, Desitin, Aveeno Products and petroleum jelly. I considered each and every suggestions. First, I didn’t want to use creams on Anika without her pedia’s advice. Super sensitive ang skin ni Anika kasi. Next, hubby’s family has a history of asthma so definitely no powder for her. What I did was to follow my friend, Marielle’s advice. She said that her daughter’s pedia told her to bathe her baby 3 times a day and then apply lotion.
So me, I instructed Girlie to bathe Anika in the morning 9:30 am before she takes a nap, at 2pm when she wakes up and at 5pm before she prepares to sleep. We use warm water for her bath so Anika wont catch cold. Bathing, CHECK!
Next is the lotion. I asked Marielle what lotion it is. It was Physiogel. Alien sounding ang name. Hindi ako familiar with it. I was told it can be bought at Mercury Drug or at Watsons. And so off I went to buy this lotion. When I was paying for it, I found out that it costs almost Php 900!! Hindot! Ang mahal!!! This better work, I said to myself. Anyways, kahit magkano yan basta gagaling bungang araw ni Anika, go ako. You mommies know what I mean.
And true enough, after three days, Anika’s prickly heat rashes at her back and neck disappeared. Just like magic!
I wanna share with you guys this amazing Physiogel lotion. Anika’s skin is super sensitive kaya super swak na swak ang lotion na itech sa kaniya because it’s hypoallergenic.
