I had my two impacted wisdom teeth extracted today.
Before I make kwento, lemme tell you about the first two dental surgeries that I had.
The first one that I had was in 2006. I went to a random dental clinic near where my then boyfriend lived. The dentist was young and pogi. He told me that I had to have my xray done so I had it done somewhere in Park Square in Makati. I remember 1,000 pesos ang xray that time. I showed the xray to the dentist and he told me all four of my wisdom teeth are impacted.
We scheduled the surgery for one wisdom tooth at 10am on a Saturday. It was so traumatic because the surgery lasted for four hours. The dentist sliced my gums, climbed on top of me to get the tooth (which I didn’t mind kasi ang pogi nga hehe) then stitched my gums close. After the surgery, para akong sinapak ng 5 lalaki. It hurt a lot. When I got home, blood was still coming out of my mouth. I wasn’t able to eat normal food for one week.
The second surgery that I had was in 2008. The dentist was referred to me by a friend. Her clinic was in Medical Plaza in Makati. It took her two hours to extract my tooth. She also did what the first dentist did but this time, compared to the first dentist, it seemed that she knew what she was doing. The only difference was she broke the tooth so that she can get it out. It also hurt a lot and I was bleeding until I got home. That was also the time when Toots got into an accident. I got super stressed so namaga ng bonggang bongga ng tooth ko. I looked like a chipmunk for a week!
So for both dentist, they sliced my gums, got the tooth out then stitched it together. My tooth bled for the rest of the day after the surgery. I had to bite on a cotton ball the whole time. It was so gross and super hassle.
These are the reasons why I postponed the surgery for the two remaining impacted teeth for as long as I can.
Fast track to almost seven years after, I noticed that my two front teeth were clustering together. I suspected the two impacted upper wisdom teeth that I had. They were pushing all my upper teeth together in front. I didn’t want to look like a horse when I get older so I decided to have the two teeth removed.
This time, I decided to have my (wedding) Ninong Paul Chua do it.
I don’t know why I didn’t come to him for the first two surgeries. Kamote lang talaga ako.
Anyways, Ninong Paul is Wowa’s High School classmate and barkada. He married one of their High School classmate as well so they’re all very close, having reunions every two week. Haha.
I scheduled the surgery last Friday while the Pope was here because of the long vacation. However, for some reasons, my impacted tooth hurt. It was aggravated by my gym sessions. So when Friday arrived, I couldn’t open my mouth and it was swelling. Hindi daw pwede magsurgery.
We rescheduled the operation one week after. I was practicing opening my mouth wide for seven days.
Yesterday, I went home early and asked Alvin if we can eat somewhere na masarap. I want to eat a lot because I knew I would not be able to eat properly after the surgery the next day. Alvin brought us (including Anika’s yaya and our househelp) to Dampa. We ordered buttered shrimp, buttered garlic, oysters, sinigang na Tanigue and inihaw na liempo. It was soooo good!!!
I look thin in the photo ano? I’m not sure if it’s just the angle or because I have not eaten properly in days because of these damn teeth.
My surgery today was scheduled at 10am. Alvin went with me because I was so scared.
Siyempre hindi ko yan pinahalata sa outfit of the day ko:
I wore the comfiest warm clothes that I can wear in this cold weather. Ang lamig nowadays, ano?
Before I knew it, I was on Tito Paul’s dentist chair, so scared as I can be. Good thing Alvin came with me.
Yun lang, he kept on going out because my tough “Robin Padilla” husband is scared of blood. Lol.
I sat on that chair at 10:20 am. Anesthesia was injected on one part of my mouth. It didn’t hurt. Tito Paul started cleaning and putting pasta on the tooth beside my wisdom tooth and finished by 11am At 11am, he started getting my wisdom tooth out. He got it out by 11:15am.
I was sooo amazed! It didn’t hurt. I swear. May anesthesia din kasi.
Next he started taking out my other wisdom tooth at 11:20am. He took it out at 11:30am.
He didn’t slice anything. He just pulled out the two teeth! After pulling out both teeth, Tito Paul put, what he calls, the gel cube to each hole. With that, he didn’t have to sew the hole to close. It also helped stop the bleeding.
Ang galing talaga.
When I got home, the two teeth were not bleeding anymore. I just bit on soaked cotton balls (one for each hole) on the way home. My tongue felt really funny because of the anesthesia. It was so funny because I couldn’t talk straight because I had a numb tongue. Alvin wanted to video me. Hehehe.
I can’t eat anything yet now except ice cream. The anesthesia wore off na but it doesn’t hurt that much now. I just keep on eating ice cream.
I’m not complaining =)
Tito Paul instructed me to be on a soft diet. He didn’t instruct me to take any meds except for Ponstan if unbearable na daw ang sakit. I just have to rest daw today and tomorrow then I can go to work na on Monday.
Tito Paul Chua’s clinic is located somewhere in the west service road in between Sucat and Alabang exit.
I super highly recommend you guys to my Tito Paul. I have experience two other dentists pero ang layo ng pagkagawa sa akin ngayon. Very minimal pain even when I’m home na. Message me so that I can give you his office number so you can set an appointment with him.
Osha, magpapagaling muna ako mga muthers.
