Pasensya na girls at late ang announcement. I wasn’t feeling well these past few days.
Alvin and I tried a new masseuse last Monday. Hanep! Ang sarap ng masahe niya! Just like how I like it, hard and thorough.
Yun lang, the next day my back hurt. The day after that, my back hurt like hell na talaga. As in naluluha ako kay Alvin when I was telling him over dinner last night.
Hindi ko na kinaya ang pain, mga bakla. I was worried too.
ME: Babe, hindi kaya nabali na spine ko?!
ALVIN: Babe kung bali na yang spine mo eh di dapat hindi ka na nakakalakad.
The ever hypochondriac ME: Come to think of it, nahihirapan na nga ako maglakad!
ALVIN (rolling his eyes): Muscle lang yan. Uminom ka ng Mephanamic tapos lalagyan kita ng Salon Pas.
So last night, I slept early because I got groggy because of the Mephanamic. Amoy matanda na din ako.
Today, my back still hurts. Kailangan straight body ako. If I slouch or cough or yawn or laugh, sumasakit.
One of my mommy friends offered to recommend their chiropractor and myotherapist. I wanted to say yes kaso what’s a myotherapist.
I told myself, “GMG!”
Google Mo Gago.
I find that funny when they say GMG to people who are asking them something. Para hindi offensive, they changed it to, “Google Mo, Girl!”.
And so I googled it and this what came up for Myotherapy. From Wikipedia:
Myotherapy is a form of manual therapy which focuses on the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain and associated pathologies. The term myotherapy was originally coined by Bonnie Prudden to describe a specific type of trigger point therapy which she developed in the 1970s based on the earlier work of Travell and Simons who researched the cause and treatment of pain arising from myofascial trigger points.
Myotherapy incorporates trigger point therapy and a wide range of soft tissue massage and manipulation including: muscle energy technique, dry needling, and joint mobilization. Myotherapists also use stretching, nutritional advice, exercise prescription, postural advice and education, heat and cold therapy, ultrasound and TENS.
If this doesn’t get better until the weekend, maggaganyan na ako.
