Being a blogger is not easy.
Akala lang nila madali pero hindi, hindi, hindi!
And if maintaining a blog is not easy, you should know that being a video blogger is so much harder!
I tried doing vlogs. I created the Mommy Fleur Channel in Youtube. When I started shooting and editing videos, that was when I realized that it’s not easy to maintain a vlog. One, it’s not easy to put the Sombrero Sitcom in Youtube. Nawawala kasi yung pagka-natural when we re-enact it. Two, it’s very matrabaho. Ang daming takes! Three, ang hirap um-angle sa video. Sa mga hindi naman nuknukan ng kagandahan like me, this can pose as a challenge. Four, I look fatter in the video. Hindi applicable ang Beauty Plus app. And five, editing requires talent. If you do not have it, masakit siya sa bulsa because you have to pay a video editor to do it for you.
This is why I salute moms who maintains a full time video blog.
One of the women I look up to in this field is Judy Travis of It’s Judy Time and It’s Judy’s Life. She’s a Pinay mom of three girls who was born and raised in the United States. She documents their life daily via videos and then she uploads them on Youtube. Yup. Imagine the Sombrero Sitcom or my stories about Anika and Alvin pero in a video form. Ganun. She has been doing that for more than four years already. Everyday for four years, she shoots and edits videos for her vlog. She gained a lot of fans from all over the world. The It’s Judy Time channel is all about make up and it has 1.380 million subscribers. The It’s Judy’s Life is all about their daily family life and the video channel has 1.485 million subscribers.
Kamusta naman yung 45 subscribers ko ng Mommy Fleur channel?!
So you cannot blame me for jumping in excitement when Janice of Mommy Mundo told me that I was invited to the exclusive meet and greet with Judy and her family. Grabe! I couldn’t believe it! Mommy Mundo was the official partner of the the launch of the Pixi + It’s Judy Time make up here in Manila. Pwera bias, Mommy Mundo did an awesome job as always! Everything was well taken cared of and organized.
The event was held at the Samsung Hall in SM Aura. Ang bongga talaga. It was like a Mommy Fleur Day pero mga one hundred thousand times bigger.
I learned that there were like 100,000 people who wanted to attend and who attempted to buy tickets for this event but the Samsung Hall can only accommodate up to 1,000 pax.
- Napaka-swerte ko talaga, guys.
- Judy Travis has so many fans! She’s legit mga mare!
I had goosebumps when I heard everyone cheering (a.k.a. nagwawala) when the Travis family went on stage.
Everyone was cheering for a full 10 minutes. Nakaka-kilabot. The kids did a song and dance number that made the 1,000 fans inside the Samsung Hall wild. When the adults and kids had to exit so that the host can interview, ang daming kumontra! They wanted to see the kids longer!
Grabe the impact that Judy and her family made to everyone who watch her Youtube channel. It’s true talaga. When you watch one episode of their channel, you will definitely get hooked. Ang galing. Everything is so natural and relatable. Pangarap ko ang magka-ganito.
Judy talked about her collaboration with the make up brand Pixi. I received the eyeshadow palette. Lemme do a separate blog post for that. Judy chose the colors of the eyeshadows and lipstick palette. She chose the colors specifically for women who are always busy and who are always on the go. Eto yung mga mommies or women who cannot afford to spend so much time putting make up on everyday pero gustong magmukhang maganda kahit papaano.
Me na me ito.
After a while, Judy’s husband came to the stage to join her. Dito ako medyo na-luha ng slight. Benji talked about how passionate Judy is. She makes sure she shoots videos and edits it daily. He also mentioned that Judy has passed up a lot of lucrative contracts because taking it would mean less time for her to do her everyday videos. She thinks a lot about her vlog fans. Gusto niya her fans have something to watch everyday. Benji also talked about how humble Judy is. Judy never talks about herself and how galing she is. This is why Benji joined them onstage so that Judy’s fans would know this. Otherwise, hindi daw talaga magsasabi si Judy. How sweet right?
After the launch, we each had an opprotunity to have a short time with Judy and to have some photos taken.
While waiting for my turn, pinagmamasdan ko si Judy.
She was in a 4 inch heels and there were a lot of people lining up to greet her. But you know, hindi ko siya nakitaan ng kahit anong nega facial expression or anything that will show that she’s uncomfortable or tired. She was so pleasant and she was always smiling.
You know yung mga smiles of some of the celebrities when they meet the fans? Yung tipong fake na tapos may halong “I-can’t-wait-to-get-out-of here” look. Yung feel mo nagmamadali and that they were just there because they are required to be there lang?
Judy Travis had none of that.
She really conversed with each one of her fans. Hindi nagmamadali.
Now I know why Judy has so many fans and a lot of people like her.
She’s authentic. I know the word is gasgas already but I can’t think of any other word that can describe her. Wala siyang pretensions mga mare. You can feel it from afar or even when you’re with her na. She is genuinely interested in what you are saying. She’s very pleasant and kind. Ang humble talaga.
No wonder she has millions of followers.
When I get back from the US, I promise I will do a review on the Pixi + itsjudytime eyeshadow palette.
But as early as now, I am highly recommending it. The colors are perfect for everyday use. It also has shades when you wanna go a little adventurous with your eye make up at night.
This palette is priced at Php 1,495. You can order it at GLAMOURBOX Philippines (just click the link).
