How’s everything there in Manila, mga mare?
It’s 11pm here and I’m waiting for a bit before calling Alvin and Anika so that they can wake up and get ready for school and work na. Ganito pala ang buhay OFW ano? Except that I’m here for a short vacation and I am coming home na in a few days.
For me, tamang tama lang ang two weeks vacation especially if I’m not with Alvin and Anika. I get homesick and miss them terribly. Although, I am very happy I got to spend time with my dad here. Bihira ito eh. And it was a nice coincidence that I was able to be with Papa during Father’s Day. I cannot even remember when was the last time we spent Father’s Day together.
Anyway, lemme see.. Medyo sulit na naman itong bakasyon ko. I was able to see again Ate Cathy, my cousin from the States who I have not seen in years. We were able to go to Delft, The Hague and see Scheveningen. Nagsawa ako sa windmills and dikes. We were able to go to Brussels, Bruge and Rome. We were supposed to go to Paris this week but Papa can’t drive na daw that far. I can drive but I think it stresses him out when I’m in the highway (hello 160 kph!). We checked the train fare and the Amsterdam-Paris-Amsterdam fare costs 200 euros so never mind. We were supposed to go to Koln, Germany instead pero hindi na din tumuloy kasi church lang ang makikita daw. It’s not worth the 2 hour drive.
So eto ako ngayon nababato dito sa Amsterdam, hahahaha. Ibang iba na versus my visits before. Dati sige, gimmik until madaling araw almost every night. Labas dito, punta dun. Ang daming happening. Ngayon, almost all of my friends here have families of their own na. Hindi pa uso ang yaya so they can’t go out ng basta basta lang.
And also, I’ve been here many times so there’s almost nothing new to see. Peachy treated me to the Van Gogh museum kanina because never ako pumasok dun. I am not a museum person pero I enjoyed it there. Van Gogh pala never married. I just painted and painted. He suffered from mental illnesses and eventually committed suicide. Kaloka. Hence, the song Vincent (Starry, Starry Night). Ang lakas ng last song syndrome ko ngayon sa kantang yan after we visited the museum this morning.
Tomorrow naman is a special day so paki antabayanan na lang. I shall post it in my social media accounts =) After that, I’ll see my old friends here and then after, go home na.
I’m actually ready to go home already. Gusto ko na magwork. Hindi talaga ako pwede na nakatengga lang. I need to be doing something. Speaking of doing something, I just discovered Primark. OMG, men! Wild dun! It’s like H&M, Cotton On and Forever 21 combined pero mas mura. There are clothes na 1.50 euros lang. That’s less than a hundred pesos! Maloloka ka, promise. So there’s this Primark branch near the Central Station and it has 6 floors including the basement. Punong puno ng murang clothes and accessories! It’s a wasteland! Pipiliin mo nga lang because of the quality pero generally, makapal naman yung tela. I hoarded 2 euro shirts for Anika. Tamang tama ang sisikip na ng mga clothes niya. I also found Jojo Siwa merchandise at Claire’s. Siyempre I got some for Anika. I told Alvin that I will not shop here pero kamusta naman yung balikbayan box na puno na that was picked up here yesterday. Lelz. It will arrive in Manila in 45 days (Sana wag mawala or whatever. Nakakapraning). Alvin said hindi na naman daw siya nagulat. I blame IKEA. Hahahaha!
Oh and you know what? I realized that the only thing that I bought for myself was a 3 euro running shorts. I kept on buying stuff for Anika and Alvin and the house and family lang. Ganito ata talaga pagtumatanda na tapos Nanay ka.
Hayaan mo na, though. I don’t want to go beyond my budget in this trip unlike what happened in Canada
Yeah, this is still me speaking. I have not been possessed by aliens. Hahahaha!
Osha, gorabelles na ako. Good night everyone from Amsterdam!
