Okay, the secret is out!
Papa had his oath taking this morning at the Amstelveen City Hall for his Dutch citizenship!
Ang galing din talaga ng tadhana, ano? It was such a nice coincidence that I’m here to be with him on this special day. Actually Papa only learned about the oath taking day a few days before I arrived. He told me about it when he picked me up at the airport.
It was so cool.
We were at the City Hall by 12noon. The ceremony started at 1pm. Naka-viber video call ako kay Toots so that parang nandito din siya but had to put down the phone ‘coz he was at work. Nagvideo streaming na lang kami via sending videos to his viber. Lelz.
This was us before the ceremony.
A few minutes before 1pm, we were ushered upstairs to a hall where they held the oath taking. There was a wall inside the hall where you can take nice photos like this:
There was also a balcony na may nice view of the river. Napaka-lamig nga lang, grabe. Nanakit yata likod ko dahil diyan sa outfit ko. Pero tiis ganda sa ngalan ng picture taking. Hahahaha!
Good thing I brought a special outfit on this trip. Dapat talaga you have with you something to wear for emergency fancy events during your trips. You’ll never know eh. Like me, hindi ko alam na oath taking pala ni Papa. Buti may dala akong damit. Mukha tuloy ako yung mag-o-oath taking. Hahahaha!
I love my Pauline pants from Myka Limchoc. It’s so comfortable and flowy. I wanna get more of these in different colors because it’s very versatile. It can take you to the beach or to the office or to gimmiks or to semi-formal occasions. I will get the colors light gray and olive green when I get home.
After the oath taking, Papa treated us to a light lunch at this windmill restaurant. Medyo appropriate naman and akma sa mga ganap this morning, don’t you think? =)
Papa took us to Volendam and Edam after pero that deserves a separate blogpost.
Osha. Early pa ako tomorrow because I will be meeting my friends for brunch.
Doei! (that’s bye in Dutch!) plus three beso beso =)
*three beso besos talaga sila dito as a greeting or pagpaalis na so if you arrive at a party, imagine how many beso besos you’ll do in total hehe!
