When they say save the best for last, ginawa ko yun in this year’s trip here in Amsterdam.
I’m sure nakwento ko na ito before. I have good friends here in Amsterdam. Mga nene pa kami, friends na kami. Over time, nung mga tumanda na, we became closer because we were able to spend more time with each other. Hanep kami sa parties, get togethers and galaan dati. Para kamong walang bukas pagnagtawanan and nagdaldalan.
Two of these friends are Richelle (top left) and Sher (bottom right).
Dalaga pa lang kami, friends na kami. Si Sher yung kasama ko when I went to Paris in 2004. Boy, that trip was fun! I remember the bus driver scolding us for being talkative. Bawal pala magabove whisper ang conversation if you are seated near the driver. It seems that it annoys the living hell out of them. The driver kept on making us saway. Galit na galit. Hahahaha! Hindi naman kami pwedeng hindi magusap. 9 hours kaya yung biyahe via bus ng Amsterdam-Paris! It was my first time to go to a foreign country with a friend kaya naman sobrang memorable yun. We were able to go around and see all the touristy spots in Paris in a day!
If Sher is refined, Richelle is the loka loka naman. I love her. Totoong tao eh and we really do not stop talking when we’re together. Actually, when the 3 of us are together, parang hindi kami matagal na hindi nagkita. OMG, you should have seen us kanina. We were talking AT each other and not to each other. Hahahaha! Sobrang daldal, nagooverlap yung mga kwentuhan.
We had brunch at MOOK Pancakes at Waterlooplein in Amsterdam.
The pancakes were very pretty. Pwedeng lumaban sa Ms. Manila pageant sa ganda. It tastes good too!
I had pancakes with Greek yogurt, strawberries, granola and cinnamon.
Pasensya na at medyo hulas na ako there. Nakakapagod magmarathon daldal hahahaha!
We walked from Waterlooplein to the Dam so we can shop along the way and ofcourse, para magdaldalan pa more.
We passed by the famous Flower Market so Peachy can see.
This is Rembrantplein and thats Mr. Rembrant. Although, he was born daw in Leiden, not in Amsterdam kaya hindi ko alam bakit diyan siya nilagyan ng rebulto.
After walking a bit, we went to Blue restaurant near the Flower Market. Ang ganda there. We had a light lunch. Yuh, I know. We just ate and we’re eating again. Nakakagutom kasi maglakad and magdaldalan ng sabay. In fairness, malayo-layo din nilakad naman namin.
Blue is a restaurant that overlooks Amsterdam. Ang ganda dun.
We had nachos, cheese croquettes and the one with tomatoes na hindi ko ma-remember ang title. Yun pa naman ang pinakamasarap for me of the three.
After that we walked some more despite my mga nanginginig na laman loob. Napaka-lamig grabe! It was 14 degrees but the wind was so strong feeling ko negative 1 na ang temperature. Charot.
There was this conversation that I found very amusing.
SHER: Nana, hindi ka na umiinom?
ME: No. Bawal pa daw. Sabi ng doctor ko one glass of wine lang daw a day pwede.
SHER: Hindi ka na pala masaya kasama ngayon.
ME: Ikaw din noh. Uuwi ka na ng 4pm?! Anong klase yan?!
I turned to Richelle.
ME: Ikaw din. Hindi ka na masaya kasama. Babalik ka sa work ng 3pm?!
Tumanda na nga kami. Sher had to leave early because they don’t have a baby sitter. Richelle needed to go back to work naman ng maaga. Kaloka. Iba na nga ngayon. Before, ang problema lang is san kami pwede gumimik na pwede magkasya pera namin. Hahaha! Ngayon, baby sitter and work hindrances na! Kita mo nga naman.
But I am very happy I saw them the day before I leave. Hindi kumpleto ang Amsterdam trip ko without seeing them muna.
Thank you girls for brunch and merienda! Thank you Sher for going all the way to Amsterdam from Leiden. Thanks Richelle for the cheese! See you all again very soon! Next time, with the hubbies na para mas magulo!
