It’s 11:35 pm here in Amsterdam right now and I’m waiting for Anika to finish getting ready for school there in Manila.
I’m ready to go home na. I feel that I need a vacation from this vacation because of all the walking we do everyday. According to my step calculator, I walk almost 15,000 steps daily. Normal day yan ha? When we were in Rome, kamusta naman yung 27,000 steps? It just balances all the food I eat here. Ang sasarap naman kasi teh ng mga pagkain dito!
I love their bread. It’s very crunchy on the outside pero soft na soft inside. You can have this at home too ha, hindi lang sa mga restaurants. The crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside bread can be bought at Albert Heijn, their grocery here.
And then there are their lunch sandwiches na hihimatayin ka sa sarap. My favorite is this beef carpaccio that I had at Long Beach Restaurant at Hoofdorp with Tiff and her family.
Best open faced sandwich ever!!!!!!!! I wanna cry now because I might not be able to have this again for a very long time.
I like the lamb chops that we had in Rome too. Grrrrr! It was sooo tender!
And I discovered the ILLY decaf cappuccino which is the only coffee that doesn’t make me palpitate. If it’s not available, I order the mint tea because ummm.. ang ganda niya kasi tingnan eh. Hehe.
I’m totally planting mint plants at home so I can do that too!
And then, apart from the Gelato in Rome na wala talagang kapareho anywhere, I am in awe of this pasta that Peachy ordered when we were there. There’s a lot of seafood and the pasta are the round yellowish thing that you see below. Para siyang chewy and it’s very malasa. It’s the first time I have eaten something like that.
And of course, I had the best pancake at MOOK.
Hindi siya normal eh. I wanna try that at home in Manila too. I wonder where I can get granola na nakaganyan sa groceries.
The nice thing here in Amsterdam is that they have a lot of variety of ingredients in their grocery stores. Halos lahat naka-marinate na or naka-chop na. It’s so cool. Ang sarap tuloy magluto. I wish we have that kind of choices there. Their supermarkets here are like that of Rustan’s pero mas madami pang choices.
The food is one of the many things I will miss in Amsterdam. Oh wait! Meron pa pala! Who can forget the Belgian Waffles with fresh whipped cream that we had in Brussels. Grabe. Naglalaway na ako by the mere thought of it.
Anyway, I will be in Manila soon so I will have to start on burning all these calories that I ate. Although, Papa and I often go walking after dinner, iba pa din ang pagod ng Muay Thai ko.
Osha. I’ll see you in Manila guys! Mwah!
