My head hurts sobra right now because of a hangover. Wag niyo muna ako i-judge mga bakla. Lelz. Wala akong problem. Mamya I’ll tell you bakit ako nagka-hangover.
Yesterday, Anika and I started our day very early. We woke up at 6am to go to her pedia. Her pedia’s clinic doesn’t open until 11am supposedly but we go there early because limpak limpak ang nakapila sa pediatrician niya when you come late. Aabutin kayo ng siyam siyam kaka-antay. He’s a really good doctor kasi. We arrived at the clinic at 8am. They leave an “attendance sheet” on the receptionist’s table. We wrote our name there. At 8am, pang 6th na kami in line. Imagine. Sometimes pang 10th na kami when we arrive. Nakakaloka. 5am yata, pumipila na sila to write their names down. Anyway, after that, Anika and I had breakfast at McDonalds. Around 930am, we went back na to the clinic. Ang dami nang tao. We waited until it was our turn. I took Anika there to have a check up plus to have her flu shot.
Important ang flu shots ngayon mommies because of the weather. I received a memo from Anika’s school that they were offering flu shots at the clinic at Php 500 per shot. Anika didn’t want to go because she’s scared to have injection. Dun na nga lang daw kay Tito Doc (that’s what she calls her pedia) so that I’ll be with her.
Kaloka when I was paying afterwards. Php 2,000 yung singil! I told Anika sana dun na lang siya sa school, Php 500 lang. Is there a difference kaya with the brands they inject for the flu shots?
Anika has Arrhythmia so I asked her pedia if we need to have it checked again by her pedia cardiologist. Yes daw. Magpa-ECG daw muna before going. We went kanina to Healthway however, loss kami because Healthway do not have pedia cardiologists to read the ECG. Nyar. Ang aga pa naman namin dun kanina.
So anyway, after going to the pedia yesterday, Anika and I went to Up Town Mall in BGC. I have an appointment naman with a cardiologist that Wowa referred at St. Lukes Hospital BGC at 2pm. It was still early so we hung out at the mall with Wowa muna.
I needed to go to a cardiologist because according to my Blood Chemistry results, I have high cholesterol and high bad cholesterol levels. It is so weird for me to have high cholesterol level because I do not eat fatty food, naka-diet ako and I exercise almost 3x a week. Last Thursday, I was forced to go to our office clinic because ang sakit ng batok ko. When they got my BP, it was 80/60. Natakot yung doctor. She made me lie down on the bed and raise may legs. I asked her if it was really needed. Ang dami ko talagang kailangan gawing report for the planning the next day. She said yes. And my BP should go up to at least 90/60 in 30 minutes otherwise, they’d have to take me to the emergency room.
Good thing, after 30 minutes, my BP normalized to 90/60. I went to see na a cardio kasi medyo natakot ako. Ang taas ng cholesterol ko tapos ang baba ng BP ko. Everything with me is abnormal, ano?
Back to Up Town Mall muna.
While waiting for Wowa to arrive, Anika had an impromptu haircut at Vivere Salon. Anika’s hair is so long already and it takes time na to shampoo and rinse it. I wanted it shorter like mine but Anika compromised to a length na past shoulders lang. Okay fine. Anika also asked if she can have bangs and I said why not?
The haircut turned out pretty well.
For some reasons, Alvin doesn’t want to have her to have bangs. Kanina while we were in Greenbelt,
ALVIN: Bakit ka ba nagbangs?! Sinabi na naman ng Nanay mo na magbangs ka noh?
ANIKA: Hindi ah. Ako yung may gusto magbangs. Gusto ko may bangs ako.
ALVIN (softer tone): Ah talaga? Bakit gusto mo magbangs? Bagay naman sayo.
ME: Hanep ah. Kanina lang galit ka kasi akala mo ako nagpasimuno ng bangs niya. Ngayong nalaman mo na siya may gusto, bumait ka.
ALVIN: Eh siyempre. Siya pala may gusto eh.
I rolled my eyes at him.
So after we had lunch with Wowa yesterday, Anika and I went na to the cardiologist clinic at St. Luke’s Hospital in BGC.
I was happy because the cardio that Wowa recommended was accredited by my health card. Ang saya. I told myself, basta cardio or heart eklaver ko, dito na ako sa St. Luke’s in BGC pupunta. Covered naman ng health card.
After filling out the information on that paper that the doctor’s secretary gave me, she told me to proceed to the HMO concierge at the ground floor to get a slip para wala na akong bayaran na doctor’s fee.
When Anika and I went there and got a queue number, we were pang 35th pa! One thing I hate is falling in line, mga bakla. Naisip ko din that there were so many sick kids and adults that were there in line. Anika was with me. I didn’t want her to be exposed to viruses and airborne bacteria. Sabi ko hindi na ako pipila. Babayaran ko na lang kako yung fee ng doctor.
The cardiologist asked me a lot of questions because we were trying to find out why I have high cholesterol.
DOCTOR: Nageexercise ka ba?
ME: Opo. Boxing and Muay Thai.
DOCTOR: Yes, but do you eat oily food?
ME: Hindi po.
Shet butter? I love butter.
ME: Konting lang po.
DOCTOR: Taba ng baboy?
DOCTOR: Ice cream?
I wanted to tell him that natapon nga namin sa floor sa labas ng office niya kanina yung large DQ Strawberry milkshake that Anika and I were sharing sa katakawan namin kung sino na ang iinom. I decided against it. Hahaha. I can eat a gallon of ice cream. I eat a lot of cakes. Mahilig ako sa dessert, emergerd. Bawal daw siya.
Tapos ang masasayang araw ko.
He gave me what medicine to take everyday if I want to. They don’t usually give maintenance medicine daw to people with high cholesterol pero wala namang, ummm how do you call it? Walang direct cause, parang ganun. If hindi naman na-heart attack or wala naman sa lahi yung heart problems, they don’t usually give medicine if kaya naman baguhin yung lifestyle. So he gave me meds and gave me the power to decide if I will drink it everyday. Meaning, if I can discipline myself to eat the right food, I don’t need to take it.
I’m giving myself one week to decide. I don’t want to drink maintenance medicine. It’s so parang ang oldies ko na. I feel young! I am young! Even the cardio told me I’m too young to take maintenance. Change na lang daw the lifestyle.
After consulting with the doctor, I went to his secretary to pay for the doctor’s fee. My eyeballs almost popped out of their sockets when I heard how much. Php 1,200 ang singil sa akin!!!
I was mentally banging my head on the wall while getting money from my wallet. Sana pumila na lang pala ako at the HMO concierge, lekat na yan! The fee pala is so expensive! Grrrrr! Learnings ko yan for that day. I couldn’t get over it even until I was at home na. When I told Alvin about it, isa lang sinabi niya sa akin.
“Dapat talaga tinuloy ko na lang magdoctor.”
Lelz. It’s his dream to be a doctor. It’s a long story bakit hindi siya nagpush. Kwento ko sa isa sa Mommy Fleur Day.
So anyway, last night, while watching Super Girl in Netflix (nakaka-hook, promise!), around 11pm, I opened a bottle of red wine. Red wine is good for the heart. A male officemate told me that he’s drinking 2 glasses of red wine everyday. Ginaya ko and ang sarap ng nabili ko na red wine! Yung Carlo Rossi na Red Moscato. Ang sarap promise! I drank 2 glasses. Nalasing ako, lekat na yan. It tasted so good, I forgot it was alcohol.
I’m googling now and found out that the suggested serving for women is only 1 glass per day. Sa males pala yung 2 glasses per day. Nyar. Okay din daw yung pure 100% grape juice. I shall look for that.
So here I am with a hangover from last night. Hahaha! I told Alvin naiinis ako kasi I drank red wine by myself. Hindi ako nasiyahan and yet naghangover ako the next day. Nasanay ako before na nagkaka-hangover lang because I had too much to drink because I was having so much fun with my friends. Sulit sana ang hangover if nagsasaya ka the night before.
Osha, I shall go na in front of the TV again and watch my favorite Just Dessert and Super Girl in Netflix.
Have a relaxing Sunday everyone!
