I have been meaning to share with you my favorite Netflix shows for the longest time now. Hindi lang ako makapag-blog masyado because Alvin and I are addicted to the Supergirl series. As in 1am na, we still can’t turn the TV off. Minsan nagmamakaawa na ako kay Alvin na tama na pero “last episode” siya ng “last episode“.
Well, I can leave him there and sleep na kaso if iwan mo naman, nang lalamang sa episodes! Eh ayaw kong magpa-iwan. If maiwan ka kasi then you try watching the catch up episodes, ikukwento ni Alvin sayo the plot and basag plot twist siya while I’m watching. Ang sarap batuhin ng baso!
Anyway, here are the TV shows and movies that I like in Netflix (all movie posters were grabbed from IMDB):
If you are like me, who grew up reading the Archie comics, ang cool ng TV series na ito for you. It’s fun to watch because the actors and actresses really do look like their comics counterpart. I love Jughead! He’s so pogi and I think I’ve fallen in love with him. It was only after so many episodes that I realized that he’s that cute baby in Big Daddy, starring with Adam Sandler. I love his love team with Betty. They’re going out in real life which makes it more nakakakilig talaga. The series plot is a little in the dark side though. I thought comedy din siya like in the comics but it’s fine. Ang lakas maka-suspense and I love checking out Veronica Lodge’s bags!
2. THE CROWN
I like this because I am obsessed with the British monarchy. As in gusto ko alamin everything about them. After watching 2 series, I conclude that Queen Elizabeth is a strong woman. Pwedeng pwede i-peg by hard core, Alpha females. She has gone through a lot of intrigues, including the time when her husband was being suspected of having another girl, and yet, she remained strong. I’ve finished watching the first 2 series. I am waiting for the third series na and I’m quite sad ‘coz they will be replacing Claire Foy. They need daw kasi someone na medyo matanda na din kasi tumatanda si Queen Elizabeth as they go along. Make sense naman.
This is my current fave. I like Supergirl kasi it’s not boring and there are a lot of kilig scenes. I love how kick ass Chyler Leigh is. You know her as Lexie Gray from Gray’s Anatomy. Napatili din ako internally when Superman guested in the 2nd season. I thought chick flick tong TV series na ito but seeing how addicted Alvin is also, I guess pwede niyo itong gawing couple TV series binge watching dates niyo magjowa.
4. THE RANCH
Actually, it’s Alvin who wants to watch The Ranch. I watch it with him every now and then. He’s done na ata with all the episodes, though. You will like this if you’re a fan of That’s 70’s Show. Yung ibang character daw there are in this TV series. At first akala ko funny lang siya like Friends or How I Met Your Mother. Kaso as the episodes go, it’s like na a TV telenovela na may substance and drama tapos may mga nakakatawa na parts which makes it not boring to watch.
5. IRON FIST
We got interested in Iron Fist after we went to that AsiaPop ComicCon a few weeks back. It’s a story about a billionaire heir who was assumed to have died in a plane accident then went back to claim his rightful place in his father’s company. Maganda kasi pogi yung main character and there’s this Asian female character (his love interest) na maganda din and super kick ass. This female character inspired me more to do Muay Thai and boxing. Lelz. Ang ganda kasi tapos ang fit pa niya. Check her out.
6. NAILED IT!
I love desserts and Nailed It! is one of the two dessert reality show that I watch in Netflix. Dito sa Nailed It!, three amateur bakers attempt to recreate desserts done by a master chef. Ang galing mga bakla. I watch this when I want to just sit back and relax. Anika kids me that she doesn’t like watching it kasi it makes her hungry daw all the time. Hahaha!
7. SUGAR RUSH
Between the two dessert reality TV, I like the Sugar Rush better. I like it because the bakers compete in pairs then there are 3 challenges in one episode. There are more judges also which makes the series interesting. I am at awe how the baker contestants are able to make desserts in such a short time. Ang galing. Warning ‘coz nakakagutom din siya.
After telling you about the TV series that I like, let’s move on to my favorite movies in Netflix. Warning though, I like RomCom and light movies ha? Ayaw ko yung may patayan or horror films. Kaya ka nga nanonood ng TV para ma-relax, bakit ise-stress ko sarili ko para matakot?!
Ito, light na light lang talaga na movie with a lot of values you can learn. It’s about an heiress who, in order to inherit her father’s toy business, must deliver a letter to his dad’s partner. Ang catch is that, all her cards were confiscated and was given only $100 for that trip. So ayun, may love story angle din kaya nakakakilig.
It’s Will Smith, mga bakla, kaya it’s a must watch. Lelz. Hindi naman super fantastic but it’s a good movie still.
This is a very light romantic movie. Wala masyadong brain cells ang gagamitin. A reporter posing as a tutor for a little princess falls in love with the prince. Conflict is that, apart from the prince not knowing who she really is, madaming hanash si Prince sa life which he opened up to the reporter girl.
This is one of my favorite Netflix original movies. Alexandra Daddario kasi is my girl crush. The boy was friendzoned by the girl at a party and realized he can time travel back to where it all started. Best in “Try and try until you die” si kuya. It’s funny and though hindi ko type yung boy, I suddenly found myself rooting na for him.
12. KISSING BOOTH
Last but not the least, another favorite original Netflix movie, The Kissing Booth. Two bestfriends swore to each other that relatives are off limits when it comes to dating. Kaso the girl fell in love with the bestfriend’s brother hence the conflict. Gaga naman kasi yung girl. Kung ganyan ba ka-gwapo yung brother ng bestfriend ko like Jacob Elordi, bakit ako gagawa ng pact to never date him?! Hahaha! In fairness sa kanya, I don’t think the character knew that the kuya will grow as yummy and as good looking as that. The movie became more interesting also when I found out that the girl (Joey King) and Jacob Elordi are dating in real life.
How about you? Comment below naman your recommended Netflix TV shows! =)
