It’s Book Character Day at Anika’s school today.
Ang Anika, you can’t dictate to her na what to wear. She decides by herself. For this year, she told her Tatay and I that she wanted to come as Rey of Star Wars. It’s not even a book, I told her. Kinuha yung binili kong book na movie guide to Star Wars so quiet na lang ako. Lelz.
Alvin DIY’ed her costume. Yan ang bonding ng mag-ama ko. Nagkakasundo sila diyan. This is what they came up with:
Ang cute di ba?
They just cut pieces of tela for the outer wear. Anika has a white shirt naman and hindi ko alam san galing yang cute na jogging pants niya. Alvin wrapped her arms with a bandage that we use for our sprains and muscle hanash. She chose to wear the boots I got her a couple of months back.
ME: Anak, di ba masikip na yang boots mo?
ANIKA: Okay lang, Nanay. Hindi ako magsocks. I can handle it.
Marunong na magtiis ganda ang bagets.
Anika was so excited last night when she fitted the costume. I was so excited also kagabi because my new swimsuit arrived. We’ll be going to Punta Fuego this weekend. Sinukat ko din yung swimsuit ko.
So there we were parading around the house: Anika in her Jedi costume and ako in my swimsuit. Tawang tawa sa amin si Ka Lydia.
As expected, Anika woke up immediately this morning sa sobrang ka-excitedan. Sobra niyang excited that she forgot to wake me up after she took a bath.
ANIKA: Nanay, my school bus arrived na. I thought you were bringing me to school.
I opened my eyes and napatayo ako bigla. It was 5:45am already! Pakshet. I took a half bath and brushed my teeth in 5 minutes.
7 minutes after I woke up, I was already dressed and out of our room. Hindi pa tapos yung mag-ama ko magbutingting ng kung ano ano sa costume niya! Adjust dito, stapler dun.
ME: Guys, wala pa talaga akong diwa pero ready na ako. Hindi pa kayo tapos?!
It was so sulit to bring Anika to her school today. Everyone was dressed in costumes. Nakakatuwa tingnan yung mga kids.
I can’t wait to go home later to hear her stories how her day went =)
Happy mid-week guys!
