Almost three weekends ago, Anika and I went to the Mommy Mundo World held at The Fifth in Rockwell, Makati City.
I discovered Mommy Mundo when Anika was around 2 years old. I’d always go to their bazaars to shop for the things I want for Anika. It was very efficient and easy for me then because almost everything is there na in one place. Since I’m a working mom, time is gold ang pinaka-motto ko lagi. In the Mommy Mundo bazaar, sulit lagi ang punta ko. What I love most is that, I always find something new and interesting sa kada punta ko there. The vendors and the products evolve yearly. Magaling talaga.
After a few years, I met Janice, the founder of Mommy Mundo. We worked together in some projects and I love her. She’s one of the nicest and most down to earth person I know. She can be very busy (I can tell ‘coz birds of the same feather can smell each other better — or something like that), and yet when she sees you, she’ll make you chika na parang she has all the time for you. Janice is different from the other busy moms that I met in a way that you can really see how authentic and sincere she is. Walang ka-plastikan sa katawan, ika nga nila.
Anyway, seeing how the Mommy Mundo bazaars evolved into this Mommy Mundo World event makes me really proud of my friend Janice. Ang galing talaga.
So what makes the Mommy Mundo World extra special?
Hindi ko ma-put into words ng maayos (and inabot na ako ng 2 weeks kakaiisip lelz) so I referred to the Mommy Mundo website:
“Mommy Mundo World gathers under one roof not only top picks, the best mom & baby essentials, #mompreneur products but also the most extensive resources that every parent needs. Think Expo Mom booths for shopping but with parenting support groups and advocates: resources for pregnancy, breastfeeding, childcare, early education, mompreneurship ~ all of which support our advocacies in Mommy Mundo, our partners in #mompowerment!”
In short, if all in na sila before with their previous bazaars, mas all in and all around pa ang Mommy Mundo World ngayon!
Here are some of the brands I discovered and re-discovered in the Mommy Mundo World.
The One Hundred Ways is new to me. It’s a “fun, functional, mobile artplay studio for kids”.
Parents/schools can hire them for playdates or celebrations. While I was watching Anika while she did the activity, I am sure that One Hundred Ways can keep the kids preoccupied with fun activities. They have 4 areas of creativity:
Creative Play – gives the kids the opportunity for self-expression, brings life to their ideas and develops creative minds
Discover and Explore – fosters mental growth by testing new ideas and new ways of thinking and problem solving
Sensory Play – supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor and problem solving abilities and fosters social interaction
Kids’ Lounge – is a space where the kids can be quiet with their own thoughts and feelings.
Best Buddies Philippines also had a booth there.
From their website:
Best Buddies® is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Founded in 1989 by Anthony K. Shriver, Best Buddies is a vibrant, international organization that has grown from one original chapter to almost 1,700 middle school, high school, and college chapters worldwide. Best Buddies programs engage participants in each of the 50 United States, and in 50 countries around the world. Best Buddies Manila was established in 2014 and aims to continue the mission and vision of Best Buddies International here in the Philippines!
One of my very good mommy blogger friends, Mish Aventajado is one of the most committed and most active supporters of Best Buddies. We can help out by volunteering or making donations in kind or in cash! =)
The next booth that I went to is the Adarna books.
I saw that they have komiks!!! I shall order online for Anika. Baka yan na ang susi sa paggaling niya sa Filipino subject niya.
Another booth that we like that was there was the Make Believe Productions booth.
From their website:
Make Believe is now a seasoned creative arts company committed to spreading the magic to children and communities through workshops, party and event services, performances, interactive storytelling sessions, and productions. We believe in the power and magic of the creative arts to empower, enrich, inspire, and heal others.
You can hire them for your kids’ parties and they can perform an interactive storytelling na, I promise you, will surely keep the kids entertained. Nakaktuwa because the stories have life lessons as well.
Isabel arrived with her mom (baliktad talaga hehe) and we took her to Kindermusik.
She and Anika participated in some of the activities. While watching them naisip ko, “Bakit ba hindi ko alam about Kindermusik when Anika was still a baby?!”. Kung alam ko lang, I would’ve enrolled her. Apart from knowing the benefits of music to babies, toddlers, preschoolers and bigger kids, the kids looked like they were really having fun.
And then there’s Laya Baby.
I fell in love with this romper. I asked if they have it in adult size. Hehe. Waley daw. Ang sad. Madami daw nagtatanong sa kanila nun. Ang cute naman kasi.
I got Anika a dress. You saw in na in my Instagram wall. Ang ganda talaga nung dress. I want one for myself!
Anika participated in the Make Believe Productions interactive story telling that happened during the Mommy Mundo World. Abangan niyo ito when you’re there. They’re really good! Pati si Isabel, tuwang tuwa.
Lastly, one of my favorite brands that was there was Botanicals In Bloom.
Dito ako naghohoard ng Citrus Grapefruit Hand Sanitizers. I gave these away as gifts for Christmas. I also like their massage oils. Nakakarelax yung smell.
And if you are in need of your Essential Oil fix, they have too! Their oils are guaranteed 100% pure, certified cosmetic grade, conforms and passed IFRA and RIFM guidelines and they are manufactured in France.
Anika and I were supposed to stay only for at most an hour lang because we had to do some errands pa pero men, ang tagal namin dun sa Mommy Mundo World! Anika had so much fun going around and doing the activities that we lost track of time na. We just remembered that we needed to go na when Alvin called us. San na daw kami. Shoreeeee Babe! Next time, he can go with us because there’s a Daddy hang out place there too. He can play video games or lounge around lang.
I really look up to this girl, Janice!
Here I am are goofing around with Janice and RJ =)
