Before the kwento, endorse ko lang my super comfortable exercise shorts. It’s not too short para makitaan and it’s flattering to the figure. You can buy it from HERE. It’s only Php 300. Very sulit its price sa quality. I mean, hindi siya yung timpong will tear while you’re in the middle of exercising.
Moving on, I want to share with you guys why I started exercising.
In 2022, it was mostly for my mental health. I was told that I need to exercise because exercising is good for anxiety and depression. Ako naman I went because gising na ako ng 4am and wala na ako ginagawa. So very early in the morning, nasa gym na ako.
Alam niyo na ito eh pero sasabihin ko pa din. Lol. The following are the benefits of exercising. When I say exercising, like jogging, walking, running, sit ups, push ups, squats and kung ano ano pa. Yan yung mga ginagawa ko nung una. I did it for a year. I didn’t like to do more than that because I wasn’t in a good state that time. I was scared to do more difficults things because I was palpitating so much. Feeling ko aatakihin ako sa puso. Lol. Wala sa wisyo.
Anyway, here are some of the benefits of exercising that you may or may not know about yet:
1. It’s good for the heart. We need a healthy and strong heart, obviously. We need it so our chances of having heart diseases and other cardiovascular problems will lessen significantly. Kapraningan ko yan sobra because I palpitate so much. Almost yearly I do comprehensive heart exams and tests. Exercising helps our heart pump blood more effectively. It gives us better oxygen supply, reduces blood pressure and lowers cholesterol. And you don’t need to run ha? Simply walking for like 45 minutes everyday, sobrang laking bagay na.
2. Exercise regulates hormones and reduces PMS. This is especially good for women like me who are in perimenopausal already. Nakakasira ng bait ang perimenopause. You don’t know if iiyak ka ba, kakain ng ice cream or mananampal ng tao minsan.
3. Exercising strengthens our immune system para hindi tayo sakitin.
4. It’s for stress reduction, mood improvement and better sleep. I can attest to this. Exercising releases endorphins and endorphins are happy hormones. We need that. Kung may magbenta nga ng endorphins, serotonin and kung ano anong happy hormones, mamamakyaw ako eh. Every after a session at the gym, always yan, mas maganda my mood. It helped also na feeling mo ang dami mong calories na naburn and justified na yung kinain mo the day before. Hehe.
5. Ito I didn’t know before but exercising reduces our risk of Alzheimer’s disease. Being a hypochondriac, this is a big deal for me. Ayaw ko magka-Alzheimer’s someday! I don’t want to burden Anika with it. Exercising improves our blood flow to the brain, helps stimulate growth of new neurons, improves memory and cognitive function and decreases stress/anxiety. All of these helps lower the risk of having Alzheimer’s disease.
6. Of course, lastly, we know this na, exercising lowers the risk of having hypertension, diabetes and other sickness.
Iba din nadudulot ng kapraningan ko as a single mom kaya I’m exercising. I hate getting sick. I hate going to hospitals for check ups or tests. I hated it when I was still married and now that I’m separated, I hate it even more. Hindi nakakatuwa to go to the doctor ng mag-isa. It’s something I still have to get used to. And so I shall exercise so I can be healthier. Magkanya kanya tayo ng reasons why we need to exercise. I will bet you makakahanap tayo ng reason always. Tingnan lang natin ang mga bata. I know as parents we all want to live long enough to see them settled down na. Ako, parang dun lang ako mananahimik, after I see Anika okay na =D
Exercise na tayo? =D
Happy that you’re back 🙂
